About

Shohrat

Architectural detail - Louvre Abu Dhabi by Jean Nouvel

Bio

Shohrat is an architecture student based in Istanbul, with a growing fascination for the ways buildings shape how we move, rest, and connect. His work lives at the intersection of structure and atmosphere — concrete frames that let light change a room across the day, plan arrangements that choreograph a sequence of views.

He is currently in his final year of the Bachelor of Architecture program, developing a thesis on adaptive reuse in post-industrial waterfronts. Before architecture, he studied fine arts, which continues to inform his approach to composition, material, and the thresholds between inside and outside.

Approach

Every project starts with the specific: a site's light at a certain hour, a material's grain, the way a corridor widens near a window. The design follows from there. Shohrat works primarily in section, believing the most powerful architectural experiences come from the relationship between floor, wall, and the sky above.
